Here are my favourite psychology books:

      1) Thinking, Fast and Slow by Kahneman.
      2) The Blank Slate by Stephen Pinker.
      3) The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat by Oliver Sacks.
      4) The Anatomy of Violence by Adrian Raine.
      5) The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins (it’s about evolution and behaviour in all species, but still very relevant for us humans).

Here are some favourites of mine:
      – The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat, by Oliver Sacks (well, anything by Oliver Sacks really, but this one is the best one to start)
      – Bad Science, by Ben Goldacre (not just about Psychology, but a goldmine to learn how to be critical about the information you find)
      – Autism: A New Introduction to Psychological Theory and Current Debate, by Francesca Happé and Sue Fletcher-Watson (Sue was my PhD supervisor and Francesca my PhD examiner, and if you are interested in autism, this new short textbook is great to learn about it and about up-to-date research

Honorary mentions for Into the Silent Land (Paul Broks), Unthinkable (Helen Thomson), and Every Word is a Bird We Teach to Sing (Daniel Tammet)

I think my favorite is related to psychology of sleep “The Nocturnal Brain” by Guy Leschziner. There are some fascinating sleep cases in there!
