Berengere Digard answered on 15 Nov 2023:
I love researching autism and working with autistic people! I love learning about how much diversity there is in the ways the human brain and the human mind can work, and often my participants have helped me see the world through a different perspective that I had never considered before.
Of course, it can be difficult as well sometimes, like for any research. I want to make sure I’m working on questions that matter not to other researchers, but to autistic people. I want to make sure that the methods I’m creating to answer these questions will allow autistic people to show all the range and diversity in how their mind works – but often the tools we have don’t really work well enough. There’s a lot of old research and old methods slowing us down. But overall, working for the autistic community is great!
